Have you ever felt spiritually dry—and couldn’t quite explain why?
Sometimes it feels like God is distant. The truth? It doesn’t always happen because of a major event or spiritual attack. Often, it’s the result of little things—missed moments, skipped time in His presence, or our own quiet drift when life gets overwhelming or uncomfortable.
Spiritual dryness doesn’t happen overnight. It creeps in slowly when we stop prioritizing our relationship with the Father. And while the enemy may try to distract us, more often than not, it’s us. We unintentionally pull away.
But the good news? We can come back. And it doesn’t require something dramatic—it starts with choosing Him in the details of our everyday lives.
Let’s stop thinking of time with God as a task or an isolated devotional moment. It’s not just a morning routine or a Sunday experience. It’s a daily habit. A lifestyle. One we nurture little by little.
The disciples had intimate moments with Jesus in the flesh—we now have that same access through the Holy Spirit. He dwells with us. And we get to take Him everywhere—into our homes, our jobs, even the walls that surround us.
Here’s the shift: we don’t have to go somewhere to be with God. We get to be with Him wherever we are.
So what does that look like? Here are 6 examples.
1. It’s journaling your prayers.
2. Listening to worship while folding laundry.
3. Meditating on a single verse while sipping coffee.
4. Talking to Him in the car.
5. Singing while walking.
6. Coloring with your kids and letting Scripture lead the conversation.
Growth in our faith doesn’t always come from the mountaintop—it often comes in the hallway, the laundry room, or the commute.
The key? Consistent seeking. Small moments. Daily surrender.
Let’s not just have a relationship with God. Let’s grow in it.
Let’s make room for Him—not just in our homes, but in our habits.
